Hawzah News Agency- an Iftar program was held in Hussainiya Qaim (PBUH) in Melbourne, Australia, in which the Minister of Culture, the local parliaments members, the Minister of Education, the mayor and representatives of various religions participated.

Hujjat al-Islam Abul Qasim Razavi, Friday imam of Melbourne and head of the Shia Ulema Council of Australia, said,” Islam is a messenger of peace. Islamic teachings are based on love, brotherhood, tolerance and high moral and human values. Anti-Islamic activity can be countered with media propaganda. The true face of Islam should be introduced to the world and its teachings should be made known to the public.”

In this ceremony, the guests welcomed the teachings of Islam and appreciated the services of Qaim Interfaith Foundation while expressing their happiness.

They described Hujjat al-Islam Abul Qasim Razavi as the hope of humanity and a bridge between people in this era full of anxiety and hatred.

They said,” We are grateful to you. Today we saw Islam closely. The law of hijab exists in all religions and the chastity, dignity, identity, and greatness of women are associated with it.”

Then Hujjat al-Islam Abul Qasim Razavi answered questions about removing shoes to go to mosques and said,” There is such an order in all religions and as soon as Prophet Moses was mentioned, the Christian priest immediately completed his words and emphasized that when Prophet Moses (PBUH) wanted to enter the mountain, God ordered him to take off his shoes and then enter the holy place.”

Hujjat al-Islam Abul Qasim Razavi, while explaining the purposes of fasting, noted,” Today, one third of the world's population are suffering from hunger. The purpose of fasting is to feel the suffering of the deprived and oppressed.”

After iftar, bouquets of flowers, scarves, books and chocolates were also given to the guests.
